25 years ago, Rick Hansen concluded his Man In Motion World Tour by wheeling across Canada from Newfoundland to British Columbia, raising millions of dollars for spinal cord research, encouraging communities to be more accessible and inclusive, and changing the way we look at the potential of people with disabilities. In 2011 7,000 individual Canadians, difference makers in their own communities, were chosen to follow in his tracks as they passed the Rick Hansen Medal from one to the other for 273 days. The Relay left Cape Spear, Newfoundland on August 24th, 2011 and ended in Vancouver on May 22, 2012. I had the pleasure of joining the Relay in February, 2012 and documenting the participants as the Relay made it's way through Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
